I have had my own colours done, then subsequently my husband and daughters. It just makes life better. It’s easier to look good, less money is wasted on clothes that aren’t right. I consider this an investment, in addition to all this, Shirley is an utterly fantastic human being. 5 stars from us!

Had to pop on and tell you about my fantastic shopping experience yesterday (my first time near clothes since our colour and style class on Friday!). Took myself to TK Maxx - my most dreaded shop as it always feels so overwhelming, Thanks to my colour book I was able to focus very quickly on what would suit, and then determine if it was my style or not! I left with 4 classic items for my wardrobe (all well made) one of which is a stunning Brick red dress that I wouldn't have dreamed of even looking at previously and its breath taking on! All done in less than an hour ... that is unheard of. Plus I left feeling excited about my purchases, instead of the usual unsure and stressed from the experience.

I have recently had both my colour and style analysis done with Shirley.  I found Shirley to be warm, welcoming, friendly, and professional.  She brings an understanding from her many years of experience to guide the process and relay the information/results in an understandable way.  Shirley took the time to ensure the colour assessment was correct (I was a wee bit tricky), to answer all my questions and to ensure in both sessions that I was fully across all the points. It was much more than I expected and the session was not just about what colours suited me but also made me realise the impact colours can have on the way I look and feel. My partner and I did the colour class yesterday. I cannot recommend it enough! Shirley is so sweet - it was a pleasure spending our whole afternoon with her. I loved how passionate she was about colour and style, and her enthusiasm was transferred over to us. She's very professional and knowledgeable, and her attention to detail is striking.

Before we saw Shirley, I was convinced I was an Autumn from the research I had done online, and I thought I would get that confirmed. However, to my shock and surprise, I turned out to be a Summer. Now it makes so much sense why I didn't look my best in pictures or why I had to compensate my outfits with makeup to feel more confident.

Generally, my partner and I were both afraid of incorporating colour into our outfits, and because we did not want to get it wrong, we always went with the 'safe' options. Hence, our wardrobes primarily consist of black, navy, and other dark-coloured garments. But, to our surprise, those colours made us look paler and more tired, and did not serve us any justice - there are no blacks in the Spring (my partner's season) and Summer palettes. It's crazy to think about how deprived we were of our true colours - we only have about three pieces that lay in our seasons.

I'm saying all this to highlight how much of a transformative experience this was and how important it is to get your colours done instead of relying on assumptions and online research. Now my partner and I have the confidence to explore different outfits and combinations. I finally know which makeup colours look good on me (again! colours that I would never even think of putting on my face before).

Also, doing this with your partner or someone you love is fantastic, and I can't recommend it enough! Seeing their confidence grow throughout the process is priceless. We've been together for a few years, but we still learned so much about each other.
I think everyone should try this, and Shirley is the person to go to!

Totally recommend. It is amazing how truly transformational it can be to “know your colours” and understand your clothing personality.

I’ve watched people “lose 10 years” before my eyes by just swapping the colour of the top they are wearing to one from the correct seasonal palette. Simply wow!

(Personally, I’m a Spring - bright clear colours. You won’t find me in black or white; I look like death.)

And as for understanding your style - it can be life-changing. Sounds slightly dramatic but actually there’s a lot of natural confidence in being yourself. Now that I embrace the true me, instead of wearing outfits I feel I “ought” to wear and feeling “wrong” and uncomfortable, I instead have the confidence to simply wear the clothes that are “me” and know that, for my body shape and personality, I’m naturally expressing my true self. There’s a sincerity and freedom in it.

(I’m a dramatic natural by the way. The drama is very helpful when you’re wearing bright colours in a room of black, grey and white!)

And if all of that wasn’t a good enough reason to do it, Shirley Phillips is an amazing consultant who just makes the whole experience a joy from start to finish with her sparkling personality!

I recently had a re-rate of my colours and it was very illuminating and lots of fun.  I thought I was pretty good at picking out the colours in my palate and was surprised to discover that there are some colours I haven't got in my wardrobe that I could have.  
I love the make that was recommended to me.  It is very natural and I'm adjusting to wearing the brighter lipsticks!
It was great to do the class with other people and see how their double star colours really light up their faces and make their eyes sparkle.

What a fabulous morning spent with the lovely Shirley having my colours analysed and rated alongside my daughters who were just having their colours done. Shirley made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Nothing was too much trouble and Shirley took her time to ensure we had the best experience possible. My girls can be very shy but Shirley put them at ease and involved them every step of the way. We had gone in to the experience trying to work out our own and each other’s colours but we were completely wrong. Seeing the change in my daughters’ when they were draped in their colours was magical, my eldest daughter seemed to glow in her moss green and rust autumn colours and my youngest shone in her apple green and bright blue of spring. Having our colours analysed together was a brilliant bonding experience and we are now enjoying exploring our new colours together and helping each other to understand the colours that harmonise with our seasonal palettes.

A really enjoyable experience learning about the colours that work with me in harmony. Shirley's knowledge is top drawer and very interesting as I have worked with colour all of my career. The colour analysis has now given me the toolset to make the best choices going forward when purchasing new clothing. It will also push me out of my "safe" go to colours as I have found new ones that suit me. A really insightful few hours and I would recommend it to every single human that wears clothes.
