I aim to make every visit to the studio a fun and enjoyable time too. I love baking and eating so there's always something yummy to tempt your tastebuds and we might even break out into a song and dance session if we need a little light relief! 😉

Do you need someone to come to your home to do a wardrobe review or declutter? 

A fresh, informed and professional pair of eyes can spot new potential in the clothes you already own, or help to identify, without emotion, the ones that don't belong, or are not earning their keep. 

A wardrobe edit is also a great way to identify the gaps in your wardrobe, so when you do hit the shops, you do it with intention because that's the way to get your money's worth!

Shops and therefore shopping for clothes can  often feel overwhelming, tedious or uninspiring when you're doing it alone, so you might like to have help looking for a special outfit, or items to fill the gaps in your wardrobe.

We can shop together in real life, or I can shop virtually on your behalf, whichever suits your needs and available time.

I can also come to your workplace, shcool, or local group to deliver inspirational and educational talks.

Who am I?

Hello, I'm Nickie, and I own the House of Colour franchise in Coulsdon, Caterham, Oxted and Nutfield and I cover the wider areas of Croydon and much of South West London and East Surrey.

I'd like to be your Colour and Style Fairy Godmother.

My mission is to share with as many people as I can, the knowledge of how to use colour and style to feel happy, confident, authentic, attractive, empowered and credible every single day, how to be seen for all the right reasons, and “how to look good knackered”.

I live with my husband of over 20 years, our 3 teenagers and our dog, Ned, who I jokingly say is my favourite child.

If you ever see a hot (menopausal!), cheery, tall, well-padded and gloriously colourful lady being walked by a bouncy yellow labrador in Old Coulsdon, or the wider Surrey countryside, you've probably found me!

My own Colour and Style Journey

Being born in the 70s and living my teenage years through the 80s I've sported some styling masterpieces in my time, as well as the odd fashion crime - neon fishnet gloves anyone?!

Like so many people, my personal style has evolved and changed over the years, in step with the various stages of my life. 

Through my student days, my many different career reinventions, and as a wife, mum, volunteer, School Governor and PTA Chairperson/dogsbody I have always "dressed up" in the clothes that I thought I was supposed to wear, and never really felt right in them.

Over the course of these years I have struggled with my weight, experienced imposter syndrome, been overlooked professionally and socially and even on several ocassions been mistaken for a man.  Styling myself has not always come easily to me, and has been the source of a great deal of anxiety.  I only wish had known then what I know now!

Now I understand my own personal style profile, I know my best colours shapes and styles and my clothes reflect my personality..

I always feel completely "me" in my clothes, and while life throws many worries and anxieties my way, what to wear is never one of them!
