Just had a House of Colour consultation with Julie and all I can say is...unbelievable! Which is actually what I repeated too many times to mention while I was there. I had no idea what to expect, I was just attracted to have it done because of how fabulous Julie looks and I thought she was a living, breathing advert for what she does.

In a few hours, my whole attitude to the colours I dress in and make up colours I choose has been changed. I knew I liked certain colours, some more than others, and now I know why they make me happy. What I wasn't prepared for was the way some colours made me look. I would never in a million years have chosen a raspberry pink, which is so pretty but not me...except it is me because I discovered I am Summer!

I was so impressed by Julie's knowledge and expertise, and the way she explained everything so well, not being surprised at all when I was completely gobsmacked by the colour choices! She put me at my ease and was just lovely. And she doesn't impose or tell you what to do, she is very encouraging and empowering.

The goody bag you get given at the end in just beautiful and I am now armed with the info and insight to go shopping and revamp my wardrobe and makeup bag with confidence.

I really wish I had done this years ago and one of the biggest compliments I can pay Julie is that she made me, a 57 year old who was really thinking that there was little I could do, feel really pretty.

At the weekend I had a transformation moment when I discovered my inner me. My personal colour palette should be Autumn , warm and mellow shades but I’ve been dressing to my character and those who know me will recognise this ( black, white, purple, red etc) Strong colours but now I’m very excited to relaunch my packaging starting with make up and going forward from there.

I met Julie through a women’s networking group, along with others who had already had their colours analysed by her and she came highly recommended; she is such a bubbly character.

Almost immediately when Julie started draping me with different colours that matched my season (Autumn) my whole face lit up, it was like the sun had suddenly come out and when she draped me in a colour that was not right for me to give me a comparison the light went out.

I realised for many years I had been going into shops to buy clothes, particularly those for work and seeing a dress or skirt and just thinking ‘that will do’. Well I had been walking around for many years feeling nothing more than I blended in with the crowd, no one noticed me and I didn’t feel special in any way.  Now I knew why!

When I put on my colours I felt bright, confident and noticeable.  It made me smile which added even more warmth to my personality.

My ‘go to colours’ in the past were black and dark blue, so wrong!  I now wear orange, mustard yellow and many, many other colours I would never have worn in the past.  I go into shops and head straight for my colours, I am in no way attracted to any clothes that are not the right colour for me. I feel so much more alive, more confident, more me!

Without a doubt that day was really fun, you cannot be with Julie and not have fun, but it was so much more than that. It opened my eyes to who I really am and made me realise I am worthy of being noticed in a crowd.  I do want to walk into a room and be noticed, that is a great feeling, particularly when you always walk in with a smile on your face because you feel so fabulous.  The confidence boost is enormous.

I would strongly recommend to anyone to have a colour analysis and even better to have your style and make up done as well.  You have an expert in Julie, you only have to look at her to see how vibrant and attractive she is and that’s because she knows what makeup suits her and what colours flatter her and she makes the most of that.

As Julie takes you through the process of identifying what colours most suit you, it quickly becomes clear what a difference the right shade can make to your appearance. I’ve since bought a few items of clothing in a few of the top colours for me and I LOVE wearing these. 

She also identified the shades of makeup that would be most complementary for me to wear and as someone who really doesn’t wear much makeup, she has also helped bring me some comfort around wearing lipstick now.

I’m not sure everyone would describe me as having a ‘sunny disposition’, but Julie Jackson did! Well, Julie found I’m a ‘Summer’ colour in my recent Colour Analysis! It was an eye opening experience, literally, I can now see the sparkle in my big blue eyes!

After piling on the pounds recently for one reason or another, I have grown out of love for myself and become incredibly tired of looking in the mirror and seeing a cloud of grey.

I had my colours done last Friday! Well, I had colour analysis - something I have wanted to do for years. Scientifically the colours we wear can make us look brighter, healthier, and even younger! It’s all to do with tones of colour and how colours interact and it’s GENIUS. I say my face change completely before my eyes, just because of the fabric surrounding it. The difference was overwhelming and I think quite possibly life changing! Its going to end up saving me a lot of time and money going forward. It was SO much fun - almost like therapy with some imaging and dreaming thrown in. I left feeling like a new woman !
