I am a professional stylist working in the beautiful part of the UK that encompasses Ludlow, Tenbury Wells, Shrewsbury, North Herefordshire, Hay on Wye and the Welsh Borders. Looking great, and feeling confident is for everyone, not just the rich and famous. We all need to have a wardrobe that suits our lifestyle, whatever that maybe.
I am the wife of a farmer, the mother of 2 lively boys and owner of 8 unpredictable chickens. When I moved from being a civil servant in London to the rural Herefordshire in 2011 I slowly lost a sense of my own identity. I have found my way back now by learning that if you look good you feel good. Being seen and heard and valued is empowering. And also incredible fun.

How does it work/ What do I actual do to help?
I offer various options to get you looking and feeling your best as soon as possible.
If you book a colour analysis you will leave the class armed with the knowledge of what palette of colours suit you best. Have you heard of people 'having their colours done'? This is it. We find the colours that make you look the youngest, healthiest and well rested. The colours that brighten your complexion, and bring you into focus. We will also find the most natural makeup that enhances your features, rather than hides them. This class must take place during daylight hours, we need the natural light to determine your best colours. Online apps cannot accurately assess you. You take home a beautiful fan of swatches to help you assess colours for yourself at home or in the shops.
So now you know what colours suits you what happens next? I can help you develop your own personal style with a class designed to work out which styles suit your own body architecture, your unique personality and life style . This is not a make over. Beware, this class can be quite life changing. Armed with the knowledge with what suits you, what styles to go for and what to avoid, makes getting dressed a joy day to day. This class can take place in person or online.
If all this new knowledge seems daunting then don't fear. I am here to help you go through your existing wardrobe with a professional eye, helping you see what you already have the works for you and how to put new outfits together in a bespoke wardrobe review service.
And if you need a further helping hand I can help with shopping, to find you the perfect outfits for day to day life and special occasions. We can either hit the shops together or do it online.

A little about me
In my mid 30’s I gave up my job in Westminster to move with my husband to his family farm in Herefordshire. I was no longer the girl commuting into Central London. No going out for drinks after work with colleagues and enjoying weekend mini breaks in European cities. I was now the wife of a farmer, and mother of two small boys, living in the countryside, goodbye street lights, hello rolling hills. Although I have no regrets, it was a steep learning curve, and along the way I definitely lost a sense of myself.
Clothes needed to be practical and comfortable. Now in my forties, I thought I should be dressing my age but I felt frumpy, and boring, barely bothered with make-up, but who was looking at me anyway.
An occasional big event or night out was preceded by a panicky emptying of the wardrobe, much trying on and a massive pile on the bed to hang back up, my energy and confidence depleted.
I attended a Colour Analysis class in 2019 as a treat, a rare day out with an old friend. But the outcome proved to be momentous. As I was draped my in my best colours at the end of the day, and was wearing a little natural looking makeup to enhance, not hide my features, I finally saw the old me looking back at me in the mirror, and I hadn’t even realised she had gone. I haven’t looked back since.

You will leave your appointment equipped with a fan of your seasonal swatches and a tailored brochure filled with personalised tips and reminders specific to you, empowering you to confidently shop for and wear your new colours!
For optimal accuracy, arrive at your analysis without spray tans or makeup. Your privacy is paramount, so no photos will be taken or shared on social media without your consent.

Discover the science and psychology behind personal style by unlocking the power of you. During a style analysis, I'll empower you to seamlessly combine your inner self with your outward appearance, so you can step out into the world radiating confidence as your authentic self.
We consider your proportions, personality, and preferences to give you a style framework - we call this a “Clothing Personality."
You will confidently know which fabrics, prints, patterns, accessories, necklines, details, and silhouettes flatter your unique body architecture best. By integrating your personality into this framework, our style analysis transcends mere fashion guidance, going a step further to help you identify how you feel in different styles and pieces, ensuring that your wardrobe not only reflects your style but also represents your individuality.
For this appointment, you’ll bring 5–10 items from your closet that you LOVE and 5–10 that make you wonder why you don’t feel good when putting them on. Together, we’ll use this information to help you discover why you gravitated toward and loved certain pieces and what it is about the others that weren’t working for you, saving you time and money in the future! At House of Colour, we believe clothing needs to be adjusted to you, not the other way around. It is our goal to make sure you feel your most confident as who you are and how you look right now.
You’ll leave with a book with detailed information specific to you that we’ll fill out during the appointment and a Clothing Personality card with keywords that will help guide you when shopping. If you’ve already had a colour analysis, this card can be inserted into your fan which will make shopping easy and efficient!
This knowlege will last a lifetime
This appointment is designed to apply all the knowledge you gained in your colour and/or style analysis and appointment and apply it to your own wardrobe. Together, we'll filter through the pieces you don’t wear so you can donate or resell them, keeping your closet free from clutter so you can better mix and match pieces in your wardrobe to create more looks with fewer items.

I confess, being someone who lived in jeans and never wore make up, I was sceptical about the idea. However, knowing how much fun any time with Elise is and being intrigued by what had got her so excited and enthusiastic, a date was set.
Not only does Elise make you feel at ease straight away, she also feeds you marvellous cake and gives many titbits of advice all the way through the session. Through from explaining the colour wheel, discovering colours (I love those scarves) to looking a makeup, Elise made me feel confident to try colours I wouldn’t have dreamt of wearing before. Those WOW colours really do stand out and gave a much more emotional response than I expected!
I am truly amazed at how much confidence the process gave me, not only to wear a little make up in public, but also permission to recycle many old clothes that drained colour from me. Ill health has changed my life, but Elise's gentle encouragement has re-directed me and re-invigorated me. She looked acutely - but not judgmentally - at me and has nudged me onto a new path . I was able to be 100% honest with her. Clearing out items and thoughts which no longer serve me has liberated me and given me a huge confidence boost.
I am in love with my colour palette again and I have the mantra of my style "type" in my tool box. I no longer look wistfully at fashion as I can quickly dismiss colours and style as "not mine", which is even more helpful when you are looking for larger sizes and you have limited options. This clarity is such a relief - and it has brought the joy back into dressing. I don't have a clothes budget, but I've released the burden of having the wrong-for-me clothes in the wardrobe and I've made some amazing second-hand finds which give me daily joy.
I did some shopping (after 18 months of no-shopping before I saw Elise) and found myself - for the first time in my life - only keeping the 100% items instead of the "that will do" items.
I sold my inherited gold jewellery and had my existing items re-made into items I actually wear, and got a dream-handbag in my favourite colour, so I have a daily reminder of my new path.

The wardrobe suddenly makes much more sense to me and I feel more empowered when buying, especially online when you don't have the chance to try on, to make sure I make the right purchase. I'm looking forward to building a wardrobe that isn't full of things I never wear but can't quite bring myself to throw away just in case. I'm sure this learning experience will save me money over time. I will remember bright & splashy! It was a relaxing, supportive experience with excellent take home messages to apply from now on. Elise was very knowledgeable and her new studio sounds fantastic. The best ever home baked cookies were worth the visit alone!
