I offer style and colour sessions, wardrobe reviews and personal shopping. Dates and times are flexible so just email me if you don't see a date that works. I can do weekdays on request too.
I discovered HOC when I treated myself to a colour analysis to celebrate my 40th birthday. It turned out to be so much more than just a fun day out with a friend. I gained useful insight into what suits me best and only wish I had done it 20 years ago! Over time, with my new knowledge, I have created a wardrobe full of clothes I actually look forward to wearing; and have developed a real passion for finding the right clothes and experimenting with new colours and styles.
Sustainability and seeking ways to become more minimalist are key for me. Colour and style analyses are the perfect tools for this. By finding your colours and style you can create a capsule wardrobe: fewer pieces which are all interchangeable so you have many more outfits to wear. You will learn how to choose good quality pieces that suit you, so you can keep them for many more years.
As well as enjoying the process of curating my perfect wardrobe, I was really impressed with the ethos of HOC which is why I decided to train as a consultant myself. It is difficult not to compare ourselves to others, or even to our younger selves, and feel that we don’t measure up. We live in an era which is particularly obsessed with youth and beauty. It is liberating to learn to let go of unhelpful thoughts about how we look, and enjoy just being ourselves. HOC doesn’t tell anyone they are ‘not allowed’ to wear certain colours or styles, but we do give people invaluable information about what will look best on them. It is all about helping you find your own, unique, look. It is refreshing to find style advice that isn’t about trying to emulate someone else or trying to make everyone look younger. When people find what suits them best, they can express their individuality and feel more confident. Caring about clothes and make-up is not frivolous or vain, it is about finding joy in the everyday things in life. Clothes are a simple pleasure, and play a fundamental part in how we are perceived by others and how we perceive ourselves, so, if we are lucky enough to have the option, why not wear comfortable and beautiful clothes every day?
Wearing the right clothes can help you have more impact at work, feel happier when out and about, or give you the confidence to start dating again or change career. I want to help my clients let go of unhelpful rules, comparisons and expectations and find their own sense of style. I hope to show people how to have fun with clothes for the rest of their lives, and never again put something on that is just ‘ok’. My aim is to help stop my clients feeling self-conscious or invisible, and instead feel joyful when they pick out their outfit for the day. Clothes shopping becomes an enjoyable and purposeful activity with this new mindset.
Alex is an excellent image consultant. She helped identify the most flattering colours for my clothes and make up and was friendly and fun. Can’t wait to go shopping now! Highly recommend!!
