Virtual parties

As celebrations we once anticipated continue to be cancelled, a new way of coming together has been shaped; the virtual party. Apps such as Zoom, Facetime and Houseparty have become invaluable in these strange times. Being able to connect with loved ones at the click of a button has become a lifeline to many and this seems set to continue.
If Covid-19 has taught us anything it is that even with social distancing we are still able to celebrate special moments with our friends and family virtually. From birthday parties, quiz nights to even weddings; virtual gatherings are limitless and incredibly fun. However, it may be tempting to throw on comfy clothes (which is sometimes a great idea) – but you could use this as an opportunity to dress up, put some lipstick on and feel great.

Here are our top tips to help you get ready for your next virtual party:

  • Don’t forget your lipstick – adding a pop of colour can make all the difference. Grab a lipstick in a shade that suits your natural colouring and it will quickly and easily elevate your look. Our web shop is divided into seasonal categories, which makes choosing make-up easy, or you can contact your local consultant for personalised recommendations.

  • No party outfit is complete without an accessory. Virtual communications typically highlight the upper body so opt for items such as necklaces, scarves and earrings. These little touches will make your look more put together – they also make for a great conversation starter.

  • Avoid wearing busy small patterns on camera. These can quickly become an eye sore for others. Instead try colour blocking in one of your wow colours to make an impact.

  • Blusher and bronzer will make your face glow – now this isn’t groundbreaking but adding some colour to your face will highlight your cheek bones and make you look healthy combating any camera-induced sallowness.

  • Knowing your colours and personal style makes getting dressed up easy. No more panicking or worrying about whether an outfit suits you or reflects who you are. Going through your wardrobe should be an enjoyable experience and if it isn’t get in touch with your local consultant and we can find those hidden gems and discover what you are missing.

Next time you dress up for a virtual event take a photo and upload it to Instagram or on our community Facebook pages using the hashtag  #HOCwearcolour. We can’t wait to see you rocking your colour and style!
