Personal Style FAQ's

About the Consultation

  • Can I come for part of the day?
    • The class is a comprehensively designed program to lead you through the process in a logical order and ensure that you understand the information as comprehensively as possible. If you are unable to stay for the whole day, ask your consultant for other available dates to book to make sure you get full value from your investment.
  • Can I bring a friend?
    • The Personal Style day is a full day which if you attend it with a friend will enable you to understand your information and theirs, thereby getting maximum value from your investment. Many people find the Personal Style class a very affirming experience which is more enjoyable for being able to share the experience.
  • Do I get lunch?
    • Yes. Please let your consultant know of any dietary requirements you may have.
  • Will I be on my own?
    • Classes are open, thus you will meet other people such as yourself who have booked onto the same class. A class will have a maximum of 6 people.
  • Do I need to bring anything with me?
    • We suggest you bring a small selection of clothes from your existing wardrobe which will be used in the class to illustrate the points that arise. As a guide, we recommend bringing half a dozen items including something you love, something you hate, something you like but never wear or anything you have a question about, for whatever reason; fit, style, colour, why don't I wear this?
  • How do I pay?
    • Please contact your consultant to find out what methods of payment they accept.
  • What happens if I book then can't come?
    • Bookings are taken in good faith and payment is required in full on booking to secure and reserve your place. Cancellations need to be made with your consultant 1 month prior to the class for a full refund. You are welcome to replace yourself on the class to avoid losing your consultation fee.
  • Can you come to me?
    • Due to the materials and tools we use in a consultation, classes are offered in our consultant's studios. For Corporate or group events, please contact your local consultant.
  • Why do you only hold classes in groups, not one to one?
    • Value from your class comes from your knowing what your results are, i.e. what your colours are and how to use them. Additional value is gained from the learning experience of the group dynamic, it is often easier to look more objectively at someone else than ourselves and thus understand how and why the system works.
Some people prefer the focused attention of a 1:1 learning experience in which case the Fast Track Style is for you.
By offering you a class experience we are able to offer you increased value by reducing the cost of the service to you. You get a whole day with a professional Image Consultant in a small group.
  • Should I wear make-up?
    • We generally feel better when we look good, thus your consultant loves to see you using the information you learnt and wearing the make-up recommended! It is, however, not a requirement for the class!
  • Is this only for business women?
    • This is an open class for anyone who wants to find out what shapes and styles, proportions and fit, patterns and accessories suit them. The benefits of understanding how to create your look and identify the clothes and accessories which help you look good and feel comfortable in your clothes is equally applicable to your personal time as your work life.

  • Why should I bother at my age?
    • Students often need to make themselves look older, i.e. more professional and experienced. After that we tend to be on a constant mission to look younger, slimmer, and fitter and find clothes that are both comfortable and look good.

Those on a tight budget want to know how to make the most of their valuable pennies. Those who are lucky enough to not really have a budget still want to get value for money on what they do buy.

Those who love shopping can do it more and more confidently, enhancing the enjoyment. Those who hate shopping will be able to confidently get what they require and get out quickly!

Once your body has matured (approx. 18 years old) this class is applicable for all whatever your age, occupation or profession. The challenge of how to dress your changing body shape as it matures and changes through the years is simply about learning how to dress it to make the most of it. Our consultants are experts in teaching and showing you how to do this.

About you

  • Do you have to be a certain age?
    • Your personal style is dependent on several factors, your body shape being one of them. Women's bodies are fully mature between 16 and 19 years old. For this reason and to get the most value from the class, we suggest that girls wait until they are approx. 18 before they attend.

There is no upper age limit for the personal style class – in fact, you can help yourself look 10 years younger or more sometimes by simply wearing the right styles!

  • If I'm overweight can I still do this?
    • Yes! Your body shape might become a little softer with excess weight, but fundamentally your shape will still be visible to the expert trained eye of a consultant. This in itself helps you see how you can look slimmer immediately by learning how to flatter the body that you've got, now!

Make-up & Hair

  • Do you advise on hair colours/styles
    • When you understand your clothing personality, which is determined in your Personal Style class, your consultant will be able to make general recommendations on hair styles appropriate for you. Taking this information to your hairdresser will make the process of identifying a great hair style much easier.
They are often able to recommend hair dressers if you need it.

About the results!

  • Will my personal style information stay the same?
    • It should do, since when you gain or lose weight this is done in relation to your existing body shape/architecture. Your clothing personality stays the same but your changing lifestyle will enable a more or less formal aspect of it to be on display more often. (E.g. professional, business, working mum, retired, conservation worker or Gardner!) You are the same person but not all outfits from your wardrobe will be appropriate to the lifestyle activities you are undertaking.
  • How do I keep my look current?(Hairstyles etc.)
    • By understanding your body shape and clothing personality from your Personal Style class, you are able to confidently pick the elements from fashion and the latest trends which suit you. Hairstyles, glasses and accessories are often the elements which change most with fashion trends. Visit your consultant for your fashion update (LINK) to find out what tweak's you can apply to your classic wardrobe items to keep up with the latest trends.
