My Colour and Image Journey
Sixteen years ago I supported a friend who had started her own business in Colour and Style and, for the first time, I experienced a Colour Class! We were all on the point of being made redundant from Thames Television and I had little idea that a Colour Class would play such an important role in my future life.
Until Thames TV I had worked in senior positions in Women’s’ Fashion in many of the major stores in London and elsewhere in the UK and Northern Europe having started my working life as a trainee Buyer in Harrods. So for years I had dressed other women and when friends remarked that I looked tired I put it down to working too hard rather than the colour of the clothes I wore (which were always black or white).
From that illuminating and exciting day 16 years ago it gradually dawned on me how important Colour and Image could be both personally and career wise. As someone who loved browsing and shopping but who used to come home despondent after traipsing along Oxford Street the whole shopping experience was suddenly fantastic and my clothes mixed and matched perfectly. I could now scan a shop to know if my Colours were there – no more black now!
Colour and image continued to play a pivotal role when I asked my House of Colour Consultant to give a presentation about the importance of personal image and advice on staff uniforms. As a result my team went from strength to strength!
Ultimately the journey gave me a new career running my own Colour business in Devon. Now after nearly 10 years of observing clients feel and look so confident as they leave a class, I still never cease to be amazed at the changes in them, as they can’t wait to get started.
I hope that this gives a feel for my faith in House of Colour and the permanent improvements that it can bring. I will always get a buzz when I hear about the complements that that my clients receive and how much more positive they feel about themselves. Believe me I can make an important difference both in your private or professional life.
