COLOUR CLASS: The first thing we do is sit down for a cup of tea or coffee and I ask them to tell me why they are here. (The following comments tend to indicate that clients are disatisfied with some aspects of themselves). This is what they say:

“My body has changed shape and I can’t wear what I used to wear”
“My skin tone has changed”
“I don’t know what suits me any more”
“I am sick of wearing black”
“Everyone else is sick of me wearing black”
“I want some colour in my wardrobe”
“I have lost confidence in myself”
“I hate shopping nowadays because everything is for the young or too frumpy”
“She made me come with her!!!”
“I can’t believe the difference in my friend since she has been to you – so I want a piece of that”

PERSONAL STYLE DAY: I find that clients are really kind and encouraging to each other. During this day clients learn from each other as I work with each client in turn. They LOVE observing each other and really appreciate beauty in each other. The following statements show the growth towards appreciating others:

“you really suit your hair like that”
“what a difference when you move the hemline to . . . there”

MAKEUP WORKSHOP: A few weeks later when we get to the Makeup Workshop everyone is more relaxed and beginning to get used to feeling good. Finally they start to appreciate themselves again.

“I love this finished look”
“I won’t want to take it off tonight”
“That looks great" – and they are looking at themselves!!!!!
“Oh dear, I have not been doing it right at all”
“YOU LOOK FANTASTIC" (observing the finished result on a friend)

Then I see my clients for the advanced class called Style Development or at Open Days and other events. BY NOW THEY LOOK FANTASTIC. Their body langauge is completely different and they are really in touch with themselves because they KNOW they look great.
