SUCCESS STORY No. 1

AKA.... Val from Moulton, Lincolnshire.

Age
.... a secret - I've been 'House of Coloured' which means I can rewind, sorry!

Hi Everyone.......

...you may not realise it,
but I'm your Fairy Godmother!!!!

Christmas has been and gone and here we are, facing a time of reflection and new beginnings. Reflections such as - what possessed him to buy me that or, blimey that necklace is so ‘not me’.  Sounds familiar?  Generally I'm not one to brag, but I did not have to return one single gift this year, not one. I sat by the Christmas tree all smiley and happy with my perfect gifts, looking and feeling fantastic. I had a wonderful pressie experience and I'd like to share it with you.
Just over a year ago, I had a big birthday looming and as usual my partner had no idea what to buy for me. Having spent another wasted day shopping, it dawned on me what I needed for my birthday. I required help, a therapist, and a huge make-over!  It mustn't involve plastic surgery, must be affordable and work - definitely beyond my partner’s capabilities. I needed to be shown how to make the most of what I had so this was a job for a professional!  After a bit of surfing and trawling (internet), I found House of Colour, and my very own wonderful, affordable therapist Rosemary.
All I had to do then was persuade my other half that it was all his idea, and of course pay up. Psychology is a powerful thing you know, and my tack was to convince him that he would benefit from the experience more than me……. How marvellous to know exactly what to buy……save hours trudging around the shops…Psychology, Manipulation? No matter, it worked! He made the call feeling confident I would love my gift, and I got what I wanted …SUCCESS.

The entire journey has been incredible. I learnt which colours suited me, which styles flattered my figure, and how to be confident with make-up. The days of wearing a dab of foundation (wrong shade of course) and lick of mascara are long gone. No matter if the night before has left it’s tell tale signs….just open the magic box and apply….sorted! It’s true; they have everything from eye bag coverage to that 'tissue sore', nose disguise! For years my chosen colour had been black, a safe option for me, and the designers must love it too, it's used so much! Well my colour analysis was a truly remarkable experience.  It was amazing to discover how the right colours enhanced my skin tones and see how unbecoming the wrong colours were. I was very envious when I saw my fellow student’s transformations, and totally impressed by it all.
I turned out to be to be a summer girl, and the colour I have spent my whole adult life in (remember, black) is one of the worst I could wear!  I was horrified to see the effect that black had on my skin tone, (Ohmigod, all those little black numbers I thought I looked stunning in…Aaargh). If you are in any doubt about how wearing the right colours truly transform you, please read on…you have nothing to lose but I promise, everything to gain.

The whole experience is one of learning; it has even taught me how to appreciate art! During my image day I saw the true meaning of the words ‘work of art’. Whilst my consultant, Rosemary, was chatting to us, I saw a true masterpiece before me. From the colour of her hair to the most subtle piece of jewellery, she looked absolutely stunning, every part of her literally shone out, every single thing complemented the next and I realised the true magic of colour.
Everyone will benefit from this ‘Experience’, nothing will boost your self-confidence more! I have quite a tight budget so wasting money on clothes that sit in the wardrobe is verging on sinful, now I buy clothes that I will wear over and over, (unlike the 3 bags of black clothing I sent to the charity shop).

I can honestly say that since my colour analysis I have worn, and worn the clothes I have bought. I have not always found it easy, and it’s taken a while to get to grips with a whole new colour palette, but trust me, once you have done the ground work (and made sure your family are aware of your perfect colours etc.,…remember the ‘How to have a Perfect Christmas' promise!) all you have left to do is….smile sweetly and exude the ‘smug confidence’ of someone who knows darned well they look fantastic so… go on…do it, I promise, there will beNo Regrets, and definitely, No Tears…Goodbye!
