Hi there
My name is Ann and I operate the franchise for House of Colour in Dar es Salaam, originally from the UK I came to Tanzania 14 years ago for a 6 month contract, and never left.
I first discovered House of Colour in 2001, whilst visiting the London Headquarters of my then employer. One Monday our accountant Joan walked in wearing a bright red dress suit and new hairstyle, and simply looking amazing and she revealed she had had her colours and style done with House of Colour. A week later another of colleague, who had previously been the archetype drab long-haired mouse in the corner, walked in with a short funky haircut, a bright orange and saffron outfit and a whole new confident personality to go with it. She looked fabulous and she radiated a new confidence…I decided it was time to go and do this myself.
My House of Colour experience was also dramatic, I remember the consultant putting an electric blue drape on me, followed by a greyer softer blue, my face literally disappeared to the back of the room in the bright blue and then shot back into focus in the softer blue, I was a Summer and sold on House of Colour. My wardrobe had previously consisted of mainly olives, golds, rusts and beiges and of course black….all of which without my knowledge had been making me look tired and drawn, now I was given the freedom to wear soft pinks, purples and blues and I blossomed, and the compliments started rolling in (it still makes me smile when I think of the difference just wearing the correct colour made). Now my wardrobe coordinates and only has colours that work for me, why would I not want to look my best whatever I am doing?
In 2004, I started my own business here in Dar, with a colleague who 2 years later left Tanzania, I decided then was the perfect time to look into training as a House of Colour consultant. Having my colours and image done had made such a dramatic impact on me that I wanted to share this experience with others and somehow knew this would bring me massive personal satisfaction, which it does with every client I see. In April 2007 I completed my Colour consultant training and in December 2007 I qualified as an Image consultant . I love this new aspect of my life, Dar es Salaam is a small community and it is wonderful to see the positive impact House of Colour has had on so many people’s lives.
Having your colours and image done is not about whether you can wear pink or purple or yellow, it is about discovering which shading of each colour suits you and how to best maximize your own assets , it increases people’s confidence which then filters into in every aspect of their lives.
Quite simply if you look good, you feel good, and you will project that awareness and confidence wherever you go.
Apart from the feel-good-factor and having a fun day out with friends, discovering your colours and image also makes shopping so much simpler, I can literally walk past racks of clothes and not bother looking at them, they are not in my colours so why should I waste my time on them? ..and best yet there will no longer be any unworn clothing disasters lurking in your closet!
Now my whole wardrobe now coordinates and is inter-changeable, and it is all in my clothing personality, I am Gamine, so fun, neat and quirky are my key words. On the image course we will discover your clothing personality and advise you on your personal key words. We also look at the right clothing shapes and styles for you, and give you tips on where you should investment the most in your wardrobe…enabling you to shop with confidence knowing exactly what suits you and how to make your wardrobe work for you to maximum effect no matter what the occasion
Why not give me a call or send me an email and come and find out for yourself more about House of Colour, I have a flexible schedule and offer Colour courses most weeks and free introductory talk evenings on a regular basis
Make a new start in 2008, you deserve this…..I know that it changed my life and it will yours!
